A fire broke out at a Regent St, Shepparton property around 1 pm this afternoon.
Two CFA trucks and a number of police vehicles attended the scene.
One man was found inside the house by CFA.
Police are investigating and believe the fire may have been deliberately lit.
A man is in custody and is helping police with their enquiries.
