Safety at the Orrvale Rd and Poplar Ave intersection at Shepparton East will be improved, thanks to $38000 of Black Spot funding from VicRoads.
Larger warning signs with solar-powered yellow flashing lights have been installed at the intersection which will trigger as vehicles approach, warning the driver of the upcoming intersection and stop sign.
City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Kim O’Keeffe said the intersection had a history of serious collisions.
‘‘I am very pleased to see these additional safety measures are now in place and are timely coming into winter with fog and longer hours of darkness when driving conditions become more challenging. I urge road users to take care whilst travelling on our roads to ensure their safety and that of others,’’ Cr O’Keeffe said.
