All four consulting rooms at the Peter Copulos Cancer and Wellness Centre will soon have diagnostic equipment thanks to a donation from a dancing group.
The Katamatite Dance Group presented Goulburn Valley Health’s oncology department with a $2000 donation this week, raised through its various events.
Group member Glenda Osbourne said the funds were largely raised during the group’s huge annual July dance, for which dancers come from across the country to attend.
‘‘This is the second time we’ve donated to GV Health,’’ she said.
Ms Osbourne said it was an important organisation to give to as it had an effect on everybody.
The centre’s Linley Smith said the funds would be used to buy four diagnostic kits for eye and ear examinations.
‘‘It means we won’t have to keep taking them from the emergency department,’’ she said.
The dance group has been running for the past 20 years and each Friday as well as holding monthly ballroom dances.
The group also donated $2000 to Cobram hospital.
