THE annual Heathcote on Show Festival wound up on Monday.
Organisers were delighted with the turn out and local trader response.
It is estimated more than 7500 visitors attended the traditional Queen’s Birthday three-day festival.
Heathcote Tourism Development president Peter Maine said the economic benefit to traders was an encouragement for new tourist-related businesses to make Heathcote home.
‘‘The feedback from the wineries, restaurants and other producers is that they have had a record number of visitors and the average spend is also up on last year,’’ Mr Maine said.
‘‘This of course is a very good thing and it also increases awareness of Heathcote as a year-round tourist destination.
‘‘Everyone is a winner.’’
