Goal is to score a Zen

August 11, 2017

Port Adelaide players Echuca's Ollie Wines and Shepparton's Jarman Impey promote the kick for-a-car challenge.

Back your kicking ability and you could be leaving the local footy with a new car, thanks to Shepparton Renault on Saturday, August 26.

The business is giving six lucky fans a chance to win a new Renault Koleos Zen with a kicking competition at Mooroopna Main Oval when Mooroopna takes on Shepparton.

There will be 60 entries in total and a draw for the final six kickers will at about 5.50pm on game day.

A bin will be set up between the goal posts and each competitor gets a chance to kick the footy from 40m out.

‘‘The Goulburn Valley is a warm and welcoming community who love their footy. That’s why we chose to team up with Mooroopna Football Netball Club,’’ Shepparton Renault dealer principal Aaron Brain said.

Mr Brain said local schools and sporting clubs would also get the chance to enter the draw to kick for the car, as will members of the Mooroopna Football Netball Club at club events leading up to the game.

‘‘Being able to include local schools and sporting clubs in a community event will further set an example of how our local sporting clubs can engage with their local community,’’ Mooroopna Football Netball Club president Darren Hall said.

The competition has also caught the eye of Port Adelaide Football Club players and Shepparton’s Jarman Impey and Echuca’s Ollie Wines.

You can see how they fared with the challenge on Shepparton Renault’s Facebook Page.
