Numurkah police are appealing for witnesses to a break in that occurred sometime overnight between Saturday, July 15, and Sunday, July 16.

St Joseph’s Primary School on Tocumwal Rd, Numurkah, was broken into and seven laptops were taken from the premises.

Crime scene investigators attended the scene on Sunday and investigations are ongoing.

Occupants escape

Benalla police attended the scene of a single-vehicle rollover about 9pm on Friday, July 14, on the Midland Hwy at Broken Creek.

The two occupants of the vehicle escaped uninjured after it engulfed in flames at the scene.

Investigations into the cause of the rollover are ongoing.

Fatal crash probed

Emergency services attended the scene of a fatal single-vehicle collision in Echuca West in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash, which took place at the intersection of Echuca-Mitiamo Rd and Wharparilla Rd.

Emergency services responded to reports of a car on fire shortly before 1.30am on Saturday, July 15, and upon arrival, police found the driver and single occupant of the car deceased.

Investigators believe the vehicle may have run off the road and struck a large mound of dirt, catching on fire as a result. The driver of the car has not yet been identified. Investigations are ongoing.
