Deneliquin police discovered $60000 worth of cannabis during a random breath test on the weekend.

A South Australian man, 58, was caught with almost six kilograms of cannabis in his car estimated to be worth $60000 in Deniliquin this month, police allege.

About 4.30pm on June 9, police stopped a white Holden Commodore utility for a random breath test.

During the interaction, police discovered the driver had an expired licence and while making further inquiries became suspicious of the male’s behaviour. Subsequently, a full search of the person and his vehicle was conducted and police located 12 bags of cannabis weighing 5.875kg.

The male was arrested, charged and was remanded in court.

He was due to appear at the Deniliquin Local Court on Tuesday.

Police said further location details in regards to this drug detection are being withheld due to ongoing investigations.
