The Goulburn Valley Health Auxiliary’s annual fundraiser was again a success, with guests gathering to feel the love at its Valentine’s lunch.
About 165 guests enjoyed the love-themed feast on Sunday, which committee member Ngaire Rikys said raised $4125.
‘‘Guests were greeted with a glass of champagne on arrival,’’ she said.
‘‘We were served a beautiful lunch.
‘‘This year the menu was a little bit different — we had platters on the tables that they just kept replenishing.’’
Guest speaker Professor Paul D’Urso addressed the crowd regarding his work as a neurosurgeon and was presented with a package of local olive oils as thanks.
‘‘We had raffle prizes which were all donated by local businesses,’’ treasurer Julie Tracy said.
The annual quiz was once again taken out by Ms Rikys’ team — for the third consecutive year — which she joked was completely above-board.
Ms Rikys thanked Bill Hickford of Signography Shepparton for his display of the event sponsors.
‘‘We were also generously housed courtesy of the Greyhound Racing Association, so thanks very much to them once again,’’ she said.
Ms Tracy said the funds raised would go towards new special anti-fall hospital beds for GV Health.
