A former prime ministerial press secretary from Colbinabbin has been appointed Victorian director of the National Party.
Sally Branson has held senior roles across rural and regional Australia in community development, public affairs and the private sector.
She has worked as a media affairs specialist with the United States Consulate General and as managing director of Melbourne public relations firm Undertow Media.
She has also served in the Office of The Prime Minister as press secretary to former prime minister Tony Abbott.
Ms Branson grew up in Colbinabbin, and attended Colbinabbin Primary School and Rushworth High School.
Victorian Nationals president Peter Schwarz described Ms Branson as an ‘‘eminently qualified professional who will provide strong leadership for the party’’.
Ms Branson takes over from departing state director Jenny Hammett next Wednesday.
